“Rhythms of a Hopeful Heart” will open on July 11 at The anchorage in Greenville.
The exhibition, which features works by multimedia abstract artist Spartanburg Maggie Macdonaldwill be exhibited virtually on the gallery’s website and in person until October 25 at The Anchorage Restaurant at 586 Perry Ave. in Greenville.
Macdonald uses a variety of colors on canvas, usually accompanied by poetic or literary elements, to express stories of what she feels it means to be human, the gallery said in a press release.
“These works serve as an ongoing celebration and appreciation of the little things that make life extraordinary,” Macdonald said. “Call it sentimental and maybe it is, but reflection always leads me to that place of realization that the human experience, despite its many grievances, is laced with delight. A physical commemoration of joy An artistic reference to the events that raise the proverbial sun even on the rainiest days.
Art & Light will host an Artist Meet and Greet from 4:30-6 p.m. on August 25 at The Anchorage to celebrate this new collection. During the event, an artist A Q&A will take place at 5:15 p.m., which will also be broadcast on the gallery’s Instagram account.
