Ancient MEGADETH bass player David Ellefson collaborated with the visual art team SceneFour on an art collection conceived from a new art medium, bass performance. The duo have built up a superb art collection that presents the instrument in a new dimension. Each work is very limited in availability.
Ellefson apparently constructing visuals for canvas based on the movement of his fingers across the frets using a proprietary LED-tipped glove. The result is a stunning collection of artwork that showcases the bassist’s unique style in visual form.
“Bass Brightness” by Ellefson will be unveiled on September 8 worldwide.

SceneFour is primarily known as the team responsible for the “rhythm on canvas” medium, having released art collections over the past few years featuring a highly select group of drumming legends, including Bill neighborhood (BLACK SABBATH),Rick Allen (DEF LEPPARD) and david lombardo (KILLER).
SceneFour, a design and branding firm in Los Angeles, uses LED technology to transfer the unique style of musicians onto a canvas. The art would provide a “musical imprint” as unique as an artist’s autograph.
“Each guy’s works are drastically different because their styles and techniques are different,” Cory Danzigerwho co-founded SceneFour in 2004 with Ravi Dosaja graphic designer, told the New York Times.

Ellefson was fired from MEGADETH in May 2021 after sexually tinged messages and explicit video footage involving the bassist were posted on Twitter.
David was in MEGADETH from the creation of the group in 1983 to 2002, then from 2010 until its last release.
In 2004, Ellefson filed an $18.5 million lawsuit against Dave Mustainealleging the MEGADETH the chef cheated him out of profits and backed out of a deal to transform Megadeth inc. to him when the band broke up in 2002. The lawsuit was ultimately dismissed and Ellefson joined MEGADETH in 2010.
