Rhythm game “Lyrica 2: Stars Align” announced for Switch; Japanese retail bundle to include English subtitles

Publisher Cosen announced a rhythm game Lyrica 2: the stars align for Nintendo Switch. The title will be available worldwide on October 7. It will include new songs and stories from new protagonists. A physical pack with the first game will also be released the same day in Japan and will include English subtitles for both games.

Originally released on mobile, Lyrica games include several songs based on classic Chinese poems. Although they draw inspiration from ancient literature, they offer refreshing and modern interpretations of it using musical genres such as pop, rock and jazz.

As the lyrics are an important part of these songs, Chinese writing is also emphasized during the game. Although Chinese songs are the focus, both games also include native Taiwanese songs as well as some Japanese ballads.

Another aspect of the game is that it includes a story mode with visual novel segments. This sequel includes two new protagonists, Bai and Xue, but it will also continue the story of Chun and Yang. The four of them are mysteriously linked by dreams to some of the great poets of old, which also allows them to see a bit of their stories.

Cosen also shared the first trailer for the bundle. Lyrica & Lyrica 2: the stars align, showing some of the songs that will be available. Watch the video :
