A new mobile rhythm game focused on visual kei, EXTATIC VISUAL SHOCK, will soon arrive on the market. It features members of the legendary bands X Japan, LUNA SEA and GLAY. During its pre-registration period, fans have a chance to win signed products.
For a very long time, we’ve seen Japanese rhythm games come in many flavors, whether it’s Anime, Vocaloid, Idols, or whatever. But have these games succeeded in fully satisfying the Japanese rock soul that lies dormant in you? Or more precisely, the visual kei soul in you?
Now, finally, visual kei fans can expect to experience the game while listening to the music they love in the mobile rhythm game. EXTATIC VISUAL SHOCK, Where EXTAV to shorten it.
Distributed by GREE Entertainment, EXTAV can be played for free on ios and Android and features artists Yoshiki, Hisashi, Heath, Inoran, J, Jiro, Pata, Ryuichi, Sugizo, Takuro, Teru and Shinya. More artists to come.
In the game, you can choose from a variety of interiors and instruments to decorate your room, and also dress up cute avatars of party members in a variety of outfits.
Additionally, throughout the story and gameplay of the game, we can also expect exclusive interviews and never-before-seen footage to be available.
Following in the footsteps of other rhythm games, in the first gameplay sequence we can see a music video playing in the background as the player hits the notes. This is LUNA SEA’s live performance of ROSIER of “The Tokyo Dome Final Act“DVD.
Unfortunately, EXTAV is only available in Japan and naturally the game itself is in Japanese. Although, like many games that are regionally blocked on the App Store and Google Play Store, there are ways around this, blink of an eye.
EXTAV is currently promoting its pre-registration which runs from November 29 to December 5. By getting more people to pre-register, players will be rewarded with more perks when launching the game. These perks include items such as gems and gacha tickets – in this case they are called “Destiny Ticket” – which you can use to have a chance to receive your favorite character in the game.
The promotional campaign on social networks offers a chance to win signed shikishi boards (hardened cardboard boxes) by the members of LUNA SEA: vocalist Ryuichi, guitarist Sugizo, guitarist Inoran, bassist J and drummer Shinya. In addition to that, there is a 5,000 yen Amazon Japan gift card. A total of 55 winners will be drawn.
Like the game itself, it is open to Japanese residents only, and the submission period is November 29 through December 5.
